Katajjaqtiik (Inuit throat singers) Ivaluarjuk and Angugaattiaq come together to sing traditional katajjausiit (Inuit throat songs). Carrying names passed down to each of them through ancient Inuit naming practices. Iva and Angu proudly sing the songs that survived attempted cultural genocide in Canada in the mid 20th century.

Katajjausiit are traditional songs truly unique to Canadian Arctic women. The songs are timeless and have been sung for millennia - influencing spirits and weather, lulling children to sleep, entertaining community members, and keeping warm through unforgiving arctic winters.
